## Week 11 Monday Andrew Sellergren ### Announcements and Demos (0:00-20:00, 30:00-37:00) + [This](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=isxJoC2hBQs) was CS50. + We began the course with this mantra > what ultimately matters in this course is not so much > where you end up relative to your classmates but where > you, in Week 11, end up relative to yourself in Week 0 + We bring this up in the closing lecture to remind you how far you've come! + One thing we're very proud of in CS50 is that the proportion of students who identify themselves as "less comfortable" has been growing over the last few years: ![Comfort level.](comfort_level.png "The comfort level of students from 2008-2012.") + Although "more comfortable" students tend to perform better on quizzes and problem sets, know that we're more concerned with each student's improvement over the course of the semester when assigning grades. David will strike up a conversation with TFs about each and every student to evaluate his or her progression throughout the course. In short, don't let Quiz 1 get you down! Our very own Lucas Freitas was a victim of one of last year's midterms and here he is a TF just one year later! + Back in the day, CS50 Office Hours was held in the basement of the Science Center. Last year, we relocated Office Hours to the house dining halls. That worked really well, but it also overwhelmed the houses, so this year we moved to Annenberg. Unfortunately, the vibe in Annenberg wasn't as enjoyable, so we'll be looking to move again next year. Realize that many of the aspects of CS50 are works in progress. + If you're feeling stressed about CS50 or just in general, take a break with [The Spice Kittens](http://cs50.net/kittens)! + TFs Alisa and Joy are starting a group on campus called Developers 4 Development aimed at applying computer science skills to make an impact on the world. If you're interested, [join the mailing list](http://git.to/hd4d) or e-mail [harvardD4D@gmail.com](mailto:harvardD4D@gmail.com). + A big thank you to Nate Hardison, our first-ever preceptor, Zamyla Chan, our fearless Walkthrough leader, and, of course, Tommy MacWilliam and Rob Bowden, our inimitable Head Teaching Fellows. And a [thank you](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bMBYIqatJw4) to the rest of our staff! If you want to become a part of our staff, apply now at [cs50.net/apply](http://cs50.net/apply)! To learn more about how to make your web-based Final Project live on beyond the end of the course, check out [hosting options](http://cs50.net/projects/hosting). + Coming up are the CS50 Hackathon (Wednesday 12/5 from 8 p.m. to 7 a.m.) and the CS50 Fair (Monday 12/10 from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.). The Hackathon is a chance for you to crank out some code for your Final Project while eating pizza, snacks, and IHOP. The Fair is a chance for you to display your Final Project to friends, family, students, and staff. It's also a chance for you to win some cool prizes in our raffle! ### Know Your Meme (20:00-30:00) + Welcome to the first edition of CS50 Know Your Meme!
