DAVID MALAN: Hello, world, and hello to CS50x Uganda. My name is David Malan. And I'm here at Sanders Theater at Harvard University, where I teach CS50, Harvard's introduction to the intellectual enterprises of computer science and the arts of programming. In the coming weeks, you'll indeed learn how to program, using first a language called C, via which you'll understand all the more how computers work underneath the hood, so to speak. We'll then transition to Python, a higher level of language via which you'll be able to clean up data and even create web-based applications as well. We'll introduce you to JavaScript, SQL, some HTML, and CSS. And by course's end, well, the course's capstone project, its final project, will be an opportunity for you to create your very own piece of software for laptops or desktops or mobile devices alike. Welcome to CS50's community. This is CS50.
