SPEAKER: Cybersecurity is extremely important in our day and age. We're all constantly hearing about massive hacks and data breaches. So what can we do to be as secure as possible online? Here are three tips from Harvard's computer science professor. First, use a password manager. You've probably seen your phone offering you a safe password when signing up somewhere. Use it. This way, you'll never have the same password for different websites. And even if one of them gets compromised, the rest will be safe. Next, use two-factor authentication. This is done to confirm that you are actually by sending you a one-time code on your phone or your email. It gives hackers a much smaller chance to log into your account. And, finally, use end-to-end encryption. This is the safest way to communicate. But the option to do so is not always explicit. For example, on Zoom, you have to go to the Settings and manually turn on the end-to-end encryption. To learn more, watch the CS50 lecture on cybersecurity on YouTube.
