DAVID: All right. Well, Hello, world! [APPLAUSE] So before we begin our final session together, I just wanted to acknowledge one member of our team in particular who joined us over the past couple of years where everything about CS50 was online. But this weekend was Carter's very first in-person CS50 workshop. And so the team and I-- [APPLAUSE] --the team and I got him his very own CS50 laptop sticker to put on his laptop. [CHEERs, APPLAUSE] But better still, you're also about to all receive one of your own that you can put on your own laptop or any other device that you might have at home with you. But this is a four-step process because it's C-S-5-0, all of which are individual stickers. So Carter, would you mind kindly demonstrating how these things get applied to laptops or any other surfaces? CARTER: Absolutely. So once you have your laptop sticker, you'll notice it has, really, two pieces of paper to it, yeah? So you want to take one piece, and very, very slowly-- very slowly, do not go fast on this at all-- I'm probably going to fast right now, is what I'm doing. You're going to take this part off. And notice how the letters are sticking to one side, OK, but not the other. This is why you go slowly. DAVID: Aww. CARTER: And if you see letters sticking together, feel free to just go around the edges like that. It's really a fine process. So maybe sit down for a little while you do it. [LAUGHTER] And I think, not to go too fast here, I'm going to try to-- OK, I think this is working, friends. This is almost done. [CHEERING, LAUGHTER] OK, this might be a little anticlimactic. OK, so here's what not to do. Here's what not to do. See, I have CS 5 on this one, and I have 0 on this one. You do not want this, OK? [LAUGHTER] Now, I want CS 5, at least, on my laptop. So I will take these letters on this piece of paper, and I will then take this and put it on my laptop-- let's say right here. Now, I want to rub this really well. I want to just get it all in there. Now it feels sticky, OK? Now, very slowly-- [LAUGHTER] --very slowly, oh, going too fast again. OK, so this work is working. If you go slow enough, it'll work for you. AUDIENCE: Yay! CARTER: And now, yeah, and if it-- you can also add some more pressure, add some more pressure. [LAUGHTER] And then keep going. OK, going too fast. But for the sake of time, for the sake of time, I have 5 on my laptop. [GROANING, APPLAUSE] So make sure you go slowly. Do it better than me. Thank you, Jakarta. [LAUGHTER] [INAUDIBLE] yeah. DAVID: All right. Well, allow me to say what you will receive soon is a Harvard folder inside of which is your laptop sticker. But for now, just wanted to say what an honor it has been. This is my first time to Indonesia-- my first time to Asia, in fact. [CHEERS, APPLAUSE] And it really has been such fun, such an honor to get to meet everyone over the past couple of days online, over the past few months. And this is a memory that's really going to stay with us. And even though we're all leaving from CS50's team quite soon, we will absolutely be in touch via email to provide guidance on all of these resources to organize Zooms and so forth for support. So even as you leave here today, even if it felt like a bit of that firehose, realize that we have all of the time ahead of us that we want to put on our laptop stickers, and also to teach computer science as you see fit. I think I speak for all of us when I say that this has been the most energetic group, energetic workshop of all CS50 time. [CHEERS, APPLAUSE] Even at 7:30 AM somehow this morning. But I don't want to just say it in my own words. I wanted to first acknowledge and thank all of our amazing hosts here at GS, both behind the cameras, in front of the room, and the entire team. [CHEERS, APPLAUSE] And amongst his CS50's own team, of course, are a certain number of team members you met briefly yesterday. But just wanted to offer each of them an opportunity to come on down with this microphone and say their thanks and farewell as well. Rong Shin, would you perhaps like to come down first? RONG SHIN: Thank you, David. Good to see everyone. It has been an honor for us to join this workshop. And you guys are really, really like friendly to us. And I wish all the best to your CS50 journey. Thank you. DAVID: Thank you. [CHEERS, APPLAUSE] Taking so many photos now over the past couple of days has been seized with his own Sochi. If you'd like to come on down. [CHEERS, APPLAUSE] And the mic is yours. SOCHI: Hello, world. [CHEERS, APPLAUSE] Thank you so much for having us here. And it was really great to talk to you all. And you have so much energy, and it's so contagious. And thank you so much. [CHEERS, APPLAUSE] DAVID: And we heard from him earlier today, but now he's a few hours older even-- Max. [CHEERS, APPLAUSE] [INTERPOSING VOICES] MAX: Thank you. Thank you so much for all the kind words and for the wishes. For-- it has been a pure pleasure to document you guys over the past few days, to see your smiles on camera and off camera. [LAUGHTER] It is also my first time in Indonesia and in Asia. And-- [APPLAUSE] --it couldn't have gone better, honestly. You guys are so such warm, such welcoming, such hospitable people, it blew me away. And I really hope that I will be able to return soon as a tourist to explore your beautiful country-- [CHEERS, APPLAUSE] --and meet so many more of you Thank you very much, and-- [LAUGHTER] --this was CS50. Thank you. DAVID: Now, working so closely with our friends here at JIS is CS50's own Bernie Longboy, who spent months organizing this trip here. Bernie? If you'd like to come down next? [APPLAUSE] BERNIE LONGBOY: [INAUDIBLE] [LAUGHTER] [SPEAKING BAHASA INDONESIA] And to the JIS people as well, and all of you, I have been telling the team that Indonesia is such a fabulous country, and one of the best things about this country is the people. And you guys proved me right. WIth your energy and your kindness and your smiles, you proved me right. So all I can say is hopefully next year, when we do a new cohort, some of you will be helping out, maybe. So [SPEAKING BAHASA INDONESIA] AUDIENCE: [SPEAKING BAHASA INDONESIA] DAVID: Thank you and allow me to invite back to the stage one of our teachers, CS50's own Margaret. [CHEERS, APPLAUSE] MARGARET: Hello, everybody, and thank you so much for such a warm welcome. This whole last week, I just want to say to you, keep that enthusiasm going. If you have a hard day-- there may be a hard time here and there, I'm not going to lie. Don't give up. Watch David's lecture. Be re-invigorated. [LAUGHTER, APPLAUSE] And just keep going, keep that enthusiasm. You guys are amazing, and I can't wait to hear about how it all turns out. So just keep going. Congratulations. [APPLAUSE] DAVID: Next up on the stage, you now know him as CS 5's own Carter Zenke. [LAUGHER, APPLAUSE] CARTER ZENKE: Thank you, everyone. There really aren't too many words. I'm really in all of everything that you do, and I want to thank you so much for everything you've taught me over the past few days. And I hope you stay in touch over the next coming years, and even other years beyond that. Thank you. [LAUGHTER] DAVID: Thank you. [APPLAUSE] DAVID: And he warmed up the group and will again, I think, reinvigorate the group. Last but not least, CS50's own Guy. [CHEERS, APPLAUSE] GUY: I brought to mind earlier with you very important moments in your life that you remember. Many of you remember times with your teachers, and you'll never forget them. Think back to your teachers right now. Your students look at you exactly like that. They're going to remember that. So remember, when you're with them, you'll see moments where their eyes are so big, with your students. [LAUGHTER] And they're going to remember you. And I know that so many of you are going to remember these moments together for the rest of your lives. And so as you finish out tonight, I want you to keep that level of awareness. Stay awake, and keep looking with your eyes as you're around. And I want you to know that I also am never going to forget this time together. [CHEERS, APPLAUSE] So with my most awake eyes, I want to just look on you one last time and try not to cry. AUDIENCE: Whoa! [APPLAUSE] GUY: I will never forget these faces sitting in this place together tonight. We are so grateful for you, and we are so proud of you. Congratulations, all of you! [APPLAUSE] DAVID: Thank you so much. So only fitting, we thought, would be to end where we began, with an algorithm. This algorithm will operate as follows. For each letter of the alphabet, A through Z, we will have everyone whose first name begins with that letter-- A, then B, then C-- stand up and join us as called over on that side of the room. Our wonderful friends from JIS will then call out alphabetically each of your names to receive your very own laptop sticker and, better, your very own CS50 certificate in each of your folders. [CHEERS, APPLAUSE] And as your name is called, we, being computer scientists, would like to do this efficiently so we can hang out there, have some more snacks together, some souvenir photos with the whole team in front of the board. But JIS brought in yet another one of these big backboards for us to take photos against. So as you receive your certificate, if you would like, feel free to walk over on here with me. [CHEERS, APPLAUSE] Roxanne will kindly take a couple of photos. And then, if you don't mind proceeding that way, once we finish with that letter of the alphabet, we'll have you all sit down, and we'll move on to the next letter of the alphabet. So this should be big O of n, where n is probably 26, but we shall see. [LAUGHTER] All right, so would you like to translate for clarity? SPEAKER 1: [SPEAKING BAHASA INDONESIA] DAVID: And as you walk over, the A's, B's, and C's, allow me to disclaim like a good programmer, there might be bugs in our code. So if for some reason we do not call your name, not to worry. We will fix right after. If your name is misspelled, we will fix right after. And later today, you'll be able to log in to CS50's website and download digital versions of the certificate to if you'd like to share on social media. OK. SPEAKER 1: OK. [NON-ENGLISH SPEECH] [MUSIC PLAYING] SPEAKERS 2 AND 1: [READING NAMES] [DAVID OFFERING CONGRATULATIONS THROUGHOUT] SPEAKER 1: All name has been clear, all said. Before we closing this session, there will be another surprise from teacher to teacher, or maybe student to teacher. Please, welcome. [CHEERS, APPLAUSE] AUDIENCE: Oh my God. I feel like I want to cry. So on behalf of my friends in CS50 Indonesian teacher, we would like to say, thank you very much for this awesome six months. It's been a grateful memories and journey for all of us. We from nothing to something. [CHEERS, APPLAUSE] So thank you so much. I hope we will continue our relationship. Please enjoy Indonesia, and don't forget Indonesia. DAVID: Thank you. AUDIENCE: Thank you so much. So we would like to give some souvenir from Indonesia. I hope you like it. DAVID: Thank you. AUDIENCE: Thank you. [CHEERS, APPLAUSE] AUDIENCE: [INAUDIBLE] [LAUGHTER] DAVID: Thank you. Thank you so much. Sure, [INAUDIBLE]. AUDIENCE: Come on. [CHEERS, APPLAUSE] AUDIENCE: Yeah. [CHEERS, APPLAUSE] [LAUGHTER] INSTRUCTOR: Oh, thank you. [INAUDIBLE] Thank you so much. Thank you. [CHEERS, APPLAUSE] [INAUDIBLE] DAVID: Yeah, correct. CARTER ZENKE: Thank you so much. [CHEERS, APPLAUSE] Thank you so much. Thank you so much. [SIDE CONVERSATIONS] [LAUGHTER] AUDIENCE: [INAUDIBLE] [CHEERS, APPLAUSE] AUDIENCE: Sochi. DAVID: Max and Sochi? Yeah, Sochi. Sochi? AUDIENCE: Where are you? DAVID: There you are. [LAUGHTER] [CHEERS, APPLAUSE] DAVID: [INAUDIBLE] [INTERPOSING VOICES] DAVID: Thank you both. Thank you. [CHEERS, APPLAUSE] Well, on behalf of CS50's whole team, thank you again to our amazing hosts. Thank you to all of you. [CHEERS, APPLAUSE] In just a moment, we'll adjourn for some final snacks outside, but perhaps, most importantly, some final souvenir photos with CS50s whole team. It's a little sad, though, to say this one last time. But I think we should do it all together. ALL: This was CS50! [CHEERS, APPLAUSE]
